Our History

Growing from a small community school into a leading educational institution.

1972

Founding Year

The school was established as Santo Niño Institute in Upper Jasaan, Misamis Oriental. It began with a vision to provide accessible, values-based education to the local community.

1979

Institution Renamed

Through Board Resolution No. 415, Santo Niño Institute was officially renamed Colegio de Santo Niño de Jasaan, Inc. This marked the beginning of its transformation into a broader academic institution with a more defined identity.

1980

Program Expansion

The school expanded its basic education offerings, covering Pre-school, Elementary, and High School. Infrastructure improvements were made to support growing student enrollment and academic needs.

2000

College Department Established

The institution introduced college-level programs, including: Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT), Bachelor of Science in Criminology (BSCrim), Associate in Computer Technology (ACT). This era marked Colegio's shift from basic education to a comprehensive educational institution.

2010

Leadership and Community Programs

The school initiated values and leadership development programs, including early versions of what would become the “I’M Powered” student leadership initiative.

2017

“I’M Powered” Launch

In partnership with Xavier University, Colegio launched the “I’M Powered” leadership initiative, designed to empower students to become active leaders in school and the community.

2020

Digital Innovation and Modernization

A new Computer Laboratory was installed, featuring high-end computers and multimedia equipment to deliver hands-on ICT training. The school introduced Virtual Assistance Training, preparing students for modern, in-demand careers in digital services and remote work.

Now

Under New Management

The institution now emphasizes personalized learning, technological integration, and career-focused training. It continues to serve as a key educational hub in Misamis Oriental, staying true to its mission: bridging education to employment, and shaping globally competitive graduates.
